HOW THE ARG WORKS
The Governed
“Stability. Strength. Safety.”
After rebelling against the previous government of Atlaunder, the Governed (taking their name from the previous mayor referring to the citizens as “Governed”) found themselves with a city to run with very few resources. However, corporate entities gave them a hand, eventually taking over large portions of this new government. Once the Governed caught onto what the corporations were doing, they motioned to form the Council of 20, a regulatory body from each department that considers the needs of all departments.
The Underworld Collective
“I would sooner see myself looking up from the ocean floor than seeing myself looking down from a balcony.”
The Underworld Collective formed themselves from a series of message boards on the Net dedicated to the cataloguing and collating of all oral histories of past cultures. From there, a small sub-section of the community decided to cobble together drones and autopiloted submarines from scavenged parts in an attempt to explore the ocean ruins of the world outside of Atlaunder. However, the Governed put a stop to their message boards by blacklisting the websites. From then on, they spread to other social media sites, becoming a force to be reckoned with.
The Cultivation Society
“May all who embrace Dionea know her grace and purpose. Those who oppose her will learn her wrath.”
Once a collective group of greenhouse farmers, the Cultivation Society began worshipping a large Venus Flytrap, Dionea, that sprayed them with hallucinogens and began speaking to them telepathically. Her servants were tasked with their ultimate goal: return Atlaunder to nature. They then formed a cult around Dionea and spread it to all the population in The Crates. From there, the Cultivation Society grew in numbers and influence, drawing in the idealists and easily manipulatable of Atlaunder, giving their souls and lives to the Lady of Vines.
