C05: The Dragon’s Wealth

To those with our cause in their hearts,

It’s refreshing being able to deliver some good news.

We started out by negotiating with Valhalla’s leader but that turned south fast when he ordered her snipers to fire on us.

We learned from the Smoke, instead of attacking from one direction and pushing through, we flew EMP grenades over the territory’s walls. This disabled their command centre and their army of drones. From there, we breached the exterior wall, and targeted the sniper nests with small pockets of troops. Their defences crumbled from there, allowing us to capture their vaults.

After we cleaned up the remaining troops, we were able to crack open the vaults. Inside was a dragon’s horde of Chips. It totalled 10,000,000,000,000 Chips. That’s more than the combined output of all 10 territories of Atlaunder combined.

This is a historic win for the Underworld Collective, our war chest is secured.

However, from there I have dire news. The Governed managed to defy all odds by capturing Rivers End, this puts them in control of Atlaunder’s water production.

I have conferred with the other Cell Leaders and they all agree that we need to bunker down and fortify our territories.

While all our territories will be fortified, we need to select a specific territory to focus our efforts on. This would mean diverting some troops to build fortifications.

We have three options for fortification: Level 99, The Circuits, and Valhalla.

Level 99 is our capital and the source of a lot of our recruits. If we lost it, troop morale will plummet and our other territories will be plunged into chaos. Some extra fortifications would go a long way but it won’t be a direct target in the first phase of the oncoming war.

The Circuits is our black market and a buffer zone for Level 99. The main resource to protect is the underground tunnels that run all throughout Atlaunder. We have been using these to arm the other Cell Leaders in enemy territory, losing that would also cut contact with our smaller cells.

Valhalla is currently vulnerable, being newly occupied. It might be a good idea to fortify the territory as we will need to protect the Chips we just acquired. Bringing back these fortifications without additional support will be a slow process. In addition to this, we could also move the Chips to our other territories in the event of a raid. However, both options will take a considerable amount of time.

The choice is yours, I will focus on steeling our forces in the meantime.
