C02: The Invasion of The Reeds
To all our loyal soldiers,
Boy, do I have a lot to tell you.
So the invasion was going swimmingly, we dropped troops in all HOORAH and absolutely smoked the farmers living near the Atlas border.
However, we had no clue that they were getting supplies in through the underground tunnels of the Circuits. They bunkered down in the town centre and gave us hell.
This usually isn't too much of an issue, however, they started giving us a proper fight up north. We ended up having to push further north than we were hoping. The good news is we've been able to capture most of the north. The only bit that's still standing is a small pocket up north the town centre.
Now for the bad news, our scouts spotted a few Cultivation Society pawns dumping large sacks of something into the fork in the river. This is very similar to something they pulled in the Crates. Those sneaky bastards must have planted some chemical in the water to poison the villagers. I think this means that they're making a play for the reason.
For the even worse news, we just got confirmation that the Underworld Collective have taken over the Circuits. They pushed quite a considerable force through after negotiations fell through. They are now on the doorstep of Atlas. We can't discount the possibility that Atlas will be their next target, although they may also try to build their forces back up a bit more. If we lose Atlas, we've got a big problem.
From here we have a choice.
We can either attempt to take over the town centre with all our troops or redirect a portion of the forces to fortify Atlas.
A full take over would require more resources but it would most likely lead to us gaining a new territory. We can always use the Reeds as a fallback for Atlas in the event it's attacked. This would leave Atlas open to an attack.
Splitting off our forces to fortify Atlas would ensure that our capital is safe, however, this would leave our forces in the Reeds waiting out the siege at the town centre and more vulnerable to whatever the Cultivation Society are planning. However, we can repel the Underworld Collective if they attack.
This is up to you as usual.
Oh and a little birdie from the intel department that we have a double agent in our midst.
If I was that double agent, I would keep an eye on your inbox.
