C01: The time has come, the sea of many requires your wisdom.

Greetings from the sea of many.

The time for the our vines to extend beyond the Crates has arrived.

However, this leaves us at  a crossroads.

We can either choose to target the Reeds or Overwatch.

The Reeds is a village spread out amongst the river banks of the artificial stream that cuts through Atlaunder. This would give us access to 4 major regions (Valhalla, The Smoke, Atlas, and Rivers End). However, it will be extremely difficult to take the region due to its size. We may not have enough forces to cover the whole region. In addition to this, we know that we will meet a large amount of resistance from the villagers as they are made up of military veterans that won't submit to the Lady of Vines without a fight.

Overwatch is a large tower used for surveillance throughout the dome. They can predict outcomes of battles at an alarmingly accurate rate and have a lot of data on the citizens of Atlaunder. This data includes blackmail on the other faction leaders that will be useful in the future. We know for certain that there will be a lot of resistance from the employees of Overwatch. However, they are entirely localised within the tower, making them easier to fight as we don't have to spread our troops so thin.

We have two options when dealing with these regions, assimilation or occupation.

Assimilation involves infecting the population with Dionea's seeds. This would ensure that the Lady of Vines can be heard throughout the population. This means we don't lose as many troops and we face little to no resistance when capturing the territory. However, there are some drawbacks. This could be more easily discovered (which would lead to the assimilation process being nullified or severely weakened) and leaves the area open for other factions to claim if they decide to invade.

Occupation is just as it sounds, sending in our army to claim the area by force. This would ensure that we can fight against any resistance from other factions. While this is resource intensive, the show of force might just overwhelm the region enough for us to claim it in a few days. However, this could also turn into a multi week siege that can put a massive dent in our resources.

The choices are in front of you and Dionea is looking favourably upon you, do not disappoint her.
